Hello from the sunny Amsterdam

Postby Helene » Wed Apr 20, 2005 4:39 pm

I wanted to say Hi, I just registered today. And I know Eckhart Tolle since a very short time, but I am quite impressed. Acctually it was my wonderful therapist who introduced me to him. His form of therapy is very unusual, because he focuses on the present and not on the past. And I think that healing can just happen now.
And I am thankful to have met this forum.
Until the next time

Welcome Helene!

Amsterdam is one of my No1 places I want to visit that I haven't visted yet! Is it true that there is a system of bicycles that are just left for whomever wants to usethem, and when you've got to where you want to go, you just leave the bicycle there for someone else?

Looking forwards (or now wards :) ) to chatting with you.

Hi Helene,
welcome aboard. :)
That is so cool that your therapist is using the healing power of the present moment with people.

Looking forward to sharing more with you.

Dear Clare,

Yes Amsterdam is worthed to visit. It is very beautiful. I am not Dutch, but live here since about 10 years and I love it. And since I am getting a bit more familiar with the NOW, I am enjoing it even more.
What a wonderful simple idea that is, and we are so blind to it. Somebody has to tell us - You live now in the present moment
But that with the bikes - no. They had one time this idea, but it did not work. So if you come you have to rent a bike:-))
Greetings Helene

I had a feeling the bicycle idea was too good to be true :) If they did the same thing in London, every single bike would be off the street in 24 hours, given a paint job and be up for sale on ebay!

Out of curiosity, where are you from originally Helene?

Dear Clare,

Exactely the same happened in Amsterdam to the bikes :-))

I was born in Austria and moved 15 years ago to Amsterdam, did live for 4 years in America what I liked very much. Now I am back here in Holland.

Hi - Since this had evolved into a discussion of acceptance and surrender, I did my moderating duty, and created this new topic in General named Acceptance/Surrender.
