Question about embeding links in a post

Postby snowheight » Wed Jun 09, 2010 9:13 pm

this is evidently not the way to do it

(trying to turn the text between the brackets into a link to the url in the example...)

... saw it done once and should have written it down ... anyone care to share how to do it?

Thank you!

Edited by kiki: All I do is put the URL in without doing anything else. I've always done it that way and never have had a problem.

In the "reply" box put in the correct url code, and then highlight it. Then go to the task bar at the top of the reply window and click the "URL" button. If the URL code is good it should create a link.

Thanks wanderer ... thought I saw someone pull this off so that the text of the link did not contain the url but just a description, with the url specified seperatly and not displayed ...

There is a way to do that, but I never cared to learn. I'm just happy I know where the log in button is. One of the other Mods will step up I'm sure.

Hi,

The synthax you used will work if you remove the quotation marks from the URL itself, like so:

this is the way to do it
Code: Select all
Correct:
this is the way to do it

Incorrect:
this is evidently not the way to do it
