Icons to the left of thread titles
What do they mean? I can't find any info about them.

They are indicators of posting activity. If it's red, it means a new post since you last visited that thread. If it's moving, it means it is active in that at least 10 posts have been made to it. If there is a star, it means you have posted to that thread. If it is a light bulb shape, it means it is a sticky.

Yes, grasshopper. A sticky is a post that stays at the top of the particular forum section that it is within. You will note that all light bulb type threads are always clustered at the top of the section. Only Mods can post a sticky.
