Subscriptions to Topics

Postby heidi » Sun Dec 02, 2007 6:29 pm

I am noticing that since we got the new board that I seem to be automatically subscribed to topics and must go and unsubscribe or "unwatch" them. I've been looking around at user preferences but find no way to shut that feature off completely so I stop getting email notifications for topics I never subscribed to in the first place. Any help with this one Eric?

You mean the email notification on reply to topic?

Yes, I get a notification - in fact I got one for this post! It seems I have to unsubscribe to each one or it keeps sending me new ones.

I just clicked the unsubscribe link at the bottom so I won't get notified. But I should be able to have a preference to not get any notifications.

User Control Panel -> Board preferences -> Edit global settings -> Notify me on new private messages

Yes, even I have noticed this problem. I used to get notifications for PM , but not the posts to which I replied to. But recently , I received mail for the latter also. While posting this message , I see that "Notify me when a reply is posted" is checked by default. How can I do to make it unchecked by default.

My bad.

User Control Panel -> Board preferences -> Edit posting defaults -> Notify me upon replies by default

Ah ha! Eric - Don't you find that with your new job writing directions just comes naturally? Thanks, I clicked no, and all should be well.
