Resurrecting this thread.
I am just finishing this book. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend, especially to our members who have come here dealing with depression, over-active minds, attachment to thoughts, suffering and such. It offers simple, easy practices to allow thought without attachment and to open the heart to release stuff and transcend the confines of the psyche. It really hit a few notes with me this time around, and I'll read it again and keep up the practices until they're second nature.
