What is meant by 'end like'?

He seems to be trapped in some unhappiness trap. I can sesne a dark and murky energy. Enlightenment sucks.

"Enlightenment Sucks" just might make an interesting t-shirt.
Then on the back as well, "The end of suffering Sucks" ?

Edit, anyway, how to avoid unhappy mind traps? Devalue the content and the workings of the mind.

By stopping disempowering and victimizing oneself and choosing the highest possible vibration/option in the moment?

Yes, that's good. Reminds me of Ruiz's 4 agreements, where a subpoint of "Be impeccable with your word" is "Avoid using the word to speak against yourself."
Good stuff.

He seems to be in the early stages of some transition. I like his raw energy and honesty. It's difficult when you see who you are, lose your fear, and see thru to the underpinnings of the world.....how conditioned we all are, etc. It's a lot to take in. It will be interesting to follow his transition. These things play out differently for everyone, some spiritual folks, zen masters, etc were quite mad by societal reckoning. Per his Facebook page he also seems to be struggling with addictions. He reminds me of Russel Brand a bit.

But everyone comes out sane in the end.

People want to gain enlightenment. I can sense clearly a trap in such attitude. My experience is that it's not about gaining something (or even losing). It's about how are you willing to act at the current moment.
Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.
People want to lay their heads in enlightenment.

How does that work?

How does what work? Forget about enlightenment. Everything starts now. Choose best action now.
