New audio teaching from Leonard...

The True Mirror
http://www.leonardjacobson.com/blog/
In this audio clip, Leonard Jacobson speaks as a mystic about the profound significance of our return to Oneness. He identifies a consciousness mirror, which reflects the truth of who we are when we are fully present, and reveals how humanity has gotten lost by looking into the wrong mirror.

Overcoming the fear of death

Question: I have been a spiritual seeker almost all my life. I have had many wonderful experiences and feel I have grown and evolved immensely. However, there is still one area which I feel has not changed much and that is my fear of dying. How can I overcome this fear of death?

Leonard’s answer:
If you are not present, and you are functioning mostly from within the mind, then death is always approaching, and it creates fear in two ways. The first is that we are afraid of the unknown, and generally what happens after death is unknown, and so we are afraid of it. To the extent that you are afraid of death, you will miss life, simply because the fear of death keeps you in the future, and life is only truly experienced in the present.

Fear of death also arises because of our attachments. The more attached we are to people or things, the more we will fear losing those things and so the more we will fear death.

To overcome the fear of death, you will have to become more present.

When you are present, you are in the unknown in the sense that the remembered past or the imagined future is not with you. All you know is this moment, not because you understand it or know it with your mind, but because you are experiencing it, moment to moment. It is very peaceful, and the more present you are, the more you will trust the unknown and the more relaxed and accepting you will be.

If you are truly present, there is no such thing as death.

One moment, you are here, alive. The next moment you are here, alive. If you remain present, then at the point of passing all you will experience is a moment of transition as you leave the body. Prior to that moment of transition, if you are present, you will experience peace, love, gratitude, acceptance and compassion. During that moment of passing, if you are present, you will experience peace, love, gratitude, acceptance and compassion. After that moment of passing, you will experience peace, love, gratitude, acceptance and compassion.

You will also experience a lot of light as you are returned to the dimension of the soul. Before this incarnation, you existed as a soul within the soul dimension. After leaving the body, you will be returned to that dimension, but your experience there will be radically transformed by the level of Presence and Oneness realized in this lifetime. Future incarnations will be radically affected by the level of Presence and Oneness realized in this lifetime.

To be fully present, you will also have to surrender your attachments. You accomplish this by bringing everything that you are attached to into consciousness. Own your attachments. Acknowledge them and confess them. Your attachments keep you imprisoned in the past or future. Your attachments keep you out of Oneness and in separation. Realize that you came into this world alone, and you will leave this world alone. You cannot take anything or anyone with you, but you can take your sense of attachment with you. This will create fear and it will contribute to the soul’s sense of separateness and loss.

In truth, you are the champion of the soul and it is through your awakening into Oneness through Presence in this lifetime that your soul will be restored to immortality. The more present you are in your day-to-day life, the more present you will be in that moment of transition. If you are present, it is truly a moment of great inspiration for those who love you. It is a moment worthy not of grief, but of great celebration.

Thanks, EvB. I would add to this that attachment to your soul itself is optional. The peace, love, gratitude, acceptance and compassion will be there anyway. You will not feel them, you will be them. You are now.

Hey Andy,
Glad you liked the article. I haven't heard Leonard speak about becoming attached to the soul itself, if I'm hearing you correctly. He says that we pretty much forget who we are at the soul level after we are born. We get lost in the story of our life which is designed to awaken us and we end up missing the lessons which will allow us to fully realize the peace, love, gratitude, etc... that we are which will liberate the soul into its immortality. He does mention that we must be here in physical form in order to learn these lessons and awaken. Here is a mystical passage from, "Journey into Now," where Leonard talks about the soul's journey in more detail...

The soul’s journey

You are a soul on a journey over many lifetimes.
Before setting off on the journey, you existed in Oneness. You were an eternal Being. It was an existence in Paradise, not unlike the Garden of Eden. But you left Paradise. You left the Oneness and entered into a dimension of time, duality, and separation. That was the beginning of your journey as a soul.

The soul journeys across many lifetimes, acquiring a sense of identity as it goes. Each lifetime lived in physical form contributes to the soul’s sense of itself in much the same way that each significant event in this lifetime contributes to your sense of yourself.

If, in an earlier incarnation, you were aggressive, controlling, and abusive, without care or regard for others, those negative personality traits and the karmic consequences of your thoughts and deeds during that lifetime, would have passed into the soul at the time of your death.

This then adds to the soul’s sense of separation and its sense of unworthiness. These negative traits would also carry forward into subsequent lifetimes.

If you were hurt, abandoned, isolated, or abused emotionally, that too would add to the soul’s sense of separation.

If you acquired limiting and self-defeating beliefs in some earlier lifetime, those beliefs will carry forward into subsequent lifetimes, until they are brought to consciousness and released from the soul.

The whole point of the soul’s journey is to purify itself of negative traits, heal past wounds and traumas, and release limiting beliefs, all of which involve the soul in the illusion of separation.

Before you incarnated in this lifetime, the soul wrote a script that would give you the best chance to accomplish its objectives. Its goal is a return to Oneness, and your life here on earth can significantly advance the soul toward its goal, or it can impede the soul in its progress.

In this way, you are an emissary of the soul.

As you heal here on earth, the soul is healed. As you release limiting beliefs, they are released from the soul. As you repent and atone for past abuses, the karmic consequence of that past abuse is released from the soul.

The more you awaken here on earth, the more the soul will awaken. The more awakened the soul, the more you will be awake here on earth. These two dimensions are interdependent.

And so, at the end of your life, when you leave your body and you are reabsorbed into the soul, you will have to face the following questions.

Have you succeeded in your journey upon behalf of the soul? Have the lessons been learned? Is the soul purified by your efforts? Or have you brought back to the soul unresolved traumas, repressed feelings, unfulfilled desires, misunderstandings, bitterness, conflict, isolation, fear, and a sense of failure.

Have you managed to free the soul from Karmic debt? Or have you created even more karmic consequences, which will have to be worked out in future incarnations?

More likely than not, the soul will be required to undergo further purification. This process of birth, death and rebirth will continue until the soul is purified and is restored into the experience of Oneness with God.

the experience of Oneness with God.
This is enlightenment, self-realization.

I tought that It is enough to be present to resolve my issues but leonard Jacobson on the cover of his website says;

"It is not enough to be present. You must also arise in mastery of your mind and ego. Only then will you become established in Presence. Only then will you be eternally free." - Leonard Jacobson

What can I do rather than being present to arise in mastery of my mind ?

I think he's talking about being conscious - being the witness to the thinking.

Perhaps he is suggesting that you need to fully understand your conditioning (especially why certain aspects of ego hook you again and again) in order to dissolve your conditioned patterns.
