Teachers that use the body?

I was just interested to know if there are many other teachers other than eckhart and Kim that use the body as a portal to presence and teach body awareness, not just confined to physical practices but can be sustained throughout the day? It might be interesting to hear other teachers' views :)

Barry Long is who you are looking for, he taught Eckhart in the 1980's
Stillness is the Way and Making Love are two titles by him that talk a lot about getting into the body. His whole teaching places emphasis on staying anchored in the ever-new sensation (wellbeing) deep in the body which acts as a means to reduce self.
I have been inspired by Barry Long's teaching and I write this so as to acknowledge my source of inspiration. It is a wonderful help, and it is a wonderful gift.

Why is it that Tolle devotes an entire chapter to inner body? He also points out that it's an "essential" aspect of being present; conditioned mind patterns will take over if not in tune with body. I love Krishnamurti and read many of his books. However, I have never read anything from him that discusses inner body. Perhaps that's the reason why thousands flocked to him and never got anywhere? I also love Adya and Vernon Howard. But again, in their teachings they never place emphasis on body. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for their teachings and I got a great deal out of their stuff. However, inner body truly is truly essential in making progress. I'm under the impression that no matter how great a teaching is, if inner body is not emphasized, you will go around and around in circles.

Yup, I do that often :) My spirituality is focused on the body though, it does not play tricks that the mind does. And since I heard Adyas "The shape shifting self" I'm sticking with that path. Body first. But it's not so fun for the mind, better to try to define how the universe is built up :roll: I find the inner body and the whole body more real somehow, can not explain so well in english. I can actually feel in my muscles when I'm in some kind of "awareness" state. When I feel that I know that it's real. Often the mind thinks the same but then body can say "no, you are hoping and daydreaming and you are a spiritualised ego. Try again tomorrow".

Yes, I understood it that way. Perhaps I was unclear. Other people I know talk about being grounded in the body. There is a simple trick that I use to get out of the mind fast which is to be grounded in the ground (Yes, I need to practice more english...) Feel (not think about it) the energy in the feet and how it is merging with the ground. Even if the energy is not felt, one can pretend and just feel the feet and ground. To focus on that. This might sound silly but it is a simple quick action that can be useful and also have a thereapeutic effect for those who get lost in the mind. "Be grounded in reality instead of thoughts".

I find that the most effective way to stay present at work is by feeling parts of my inner body, especially during a conversation with my boss or coworkers. When I do this, I find myself talking less and listening more.
