I remember ET said something about telling others your emotional disturbances could make it worse. I thought it could be helpful by releasing some tension inside of you.
What do you think ?

Re: Telling Others Your Emotional Concerns ?
Well, that depends...how strong is the emotion? Is there a story attached to it? And there usually is and what's your level of awareness at that moment? Also, who are you telling? A trusted friend that will listen or a catty coworker?
So, if there is no level of awareness or presence, you may need to vent or you may just explode, however this doesn't always make things better depending on the setting and who you're telling. It may just perpetuate the story...and make matters worse..it depends. So if you must vent then do it with the notion that afterwards you will release it, not let it deeper disturb you.
However, if your deeply rooted in presence and something arises like an emotion, investigate it yourself, does it just need to be felt and released or is there truly something that needs talked through with another. If so, what's the goal? To create a deeper story or let one go?

dijmart ,Thank you for your response.
"the goal?"-- Of course, to let out some of the tension.
“It may perpetuate the story...”
How does it go one way or the other ?

Every situation is different, as well as the degree of awareness, so I can't answer that question for you. You'll have to test the waters and find out.AlohaFriends wrote:dijmart ,Thank you for your response.

Experiencing an emotional disturbance (an emotion), shows you that you think you are in some situation. Any situation is a situation in thought only. Both the you that is thought to be situated and the location that you think you are in are thoughts. Eg try relating what you are and where you are without going into thought. Impossible.
I know this is counter intuitive, but nevertheless holds up under investigation.
