Your Task Is To Feel Your Emotions

Postby Helene » Mon Apr 25, 2005 12:49 pm

Hello,
It is very helpful for me to read all your messages. Thanks.

When I was the last time at my therapist, he asked me to get a card - I think this are Osho`s cards, but I am not sure.
So I got this following task until next friday
Your Task is to feel your emotions - that was on the card. And?? What does it mean to feel one`s emotions, if so much which we call emotions are just activities of ones mind.
Thanks for sharing your experiences

Hi Helene - I guess the first task is to become aware of what is thinking and what's pure emotion - what is mind-made and what is heart-made. And this is where the Power of Now comes in handy. Pure emotion can only be in the present; so you could ask yourself: Are the thoughts or feelings I'm experiencing in present moment or in the past or future?

So much of what people think of as emotions are actually thoughts clinging to the past or future.
Hope this helps :)

How can one distinguish between the present emotions and the thoughts of the past/future, when one's mind is constantly rambling?

Your Task Is To Feel Your Emotions

Postby Helene » Tue Apr 26, 2005 1:29 pm

Hello Heidi,

Thanks for that useful advice.
I was yesterday trying to feel what I feel. Not too much analyzing. Seems to work for a short while.
But I think I need to be patience, I am just a beginner
Greetings Helene
