Hi although Tolle references quotes in the Bible in comparing their meaning to his own work it seems to me that enlightenment is predominantly only ever used in the religion of Buddhism, so I was curious about which religions the members here are in, if any?

I subscribe to Webwandererism. It's based in a personal sense of truth where ever that may lead, while avoiding certainty as a principle so as to not get trapped in my own intellectualism and thought constructs. You might say I've had mixed results.

I was raised Roman Catholic, but left it more than 20 years ago, and have not followed any religion since, although I have an affinity to Buddhism.

In my case the same words from Kiki, except that I left catholicism almost 60 years ago, to begin the long, long seeking for The Truth that ended up when PON came to my hands 14 years ago.

I grew up atheist, I think the only reason I'd spend time reading about Buddhism is because it's got not god or heavy duty doctrine to follow. However as a pragmatic person I do have issues with the idea of reincarnation. I liken the word soul with consciousness.

If I had to choose any religion, it would be a combination of Buddhism and Paganism, however I do not label myself as either.

Well we are all lucky to be in societies that have democracy and freedom of / or from religion expression / oppression.
