Stuck energy in the head

Postby Arne Melchior » Tue Jul 06, 2010 10:26 pm

i have this interesting challenge

The Energy in me. sometimes it kind of clusters together

its in the top of my head and it feels like it can't leave the system but it should.

it comes all the time when i'm alone and especially when i practice being in the now for a long time. When i listen to Eckhart Tolle for some hours it sometimes distracts me and feels unconformable.

its feels dense and a bit like having some part of your head under water. sometimes it centralizes in a point right at the top of the head and its almost painfull or most of the time numming.

i have accepted it and i have become aware that there is an Ego who labels it as "annoying" or titles like that . i can also feel that there is an awareness in the background that observes this. That helps a great deal. but sometimes listening to Tolle makes it worse.

problem is i can't function well when there is too much energy in my head. i cant register the world around me as clear

last week when i was waiting in line for a ticket to Roskilde Festival (DK) something weird happend.
i had listend to Tolles" New Earth" for about 2 hours by then

it was like the stuck energy was cracking up and all most like some acid was dripping down my brain. again right at the top of the head. But in a kind of a good way. like when you work out the muscles and they are sore but it feels really good to feel the soreness. Not the same feeling but pain can sometimes feel kind of good if that makes sense. it felt like my head was opening up. maybe my soul was escaping some blocks from the past or something. i don't know
i would like to feel that again so i listen to Tolle alot right now.

i haven't met anyone who can feel the energy in their head before. Thats weird because for me it is almost impossible to ignore if i wanted to.

i stay present and observe it as much as i can and i constantly remind myself that i am the observer and that it is only the ego who has a problem with the energy. but its like the more quiet i get inside the more heavy it becomes

Have you tried this before? do you know anybody who very often can feel a heavy energy in the head. its moving around alott to when i observe it.

Let me Know. Thanks in advance

Hello Arne, and welcome to the forum. It sounds to me like kundalini energy may have awakened. If it has there isn't really anything that can be done about it other than observe it. You might try going to someone who practices Reiki; they might be able to help get it in balance so it isn't so uncomfortable, but once it's awake it will go where it needs to. Reiki is a very gentle and wonderful form of healing energy work that a Reiki practitioner uses.

Kundalini was also the first thing I thought of. Do you also feel the energy ascending along your spinal column? That's a classic indicator of kundalini rising.

Try this. When the energy is thrumming at the top of your head, get into a calm state, eyes closed, breathing slow and steady, then imagine (very realistically) the top of your head opening to let a bird out (your energy). Visualize your bird very clearly: size, color, shape, etc. Let it fly wherever it wants to fly, however fast, slow, measured, erratic. Perhaps it will dart around the room. Perhaps turn whirlwind circles around your head. Perhaps turn circles around the earth. 1-5-10 minutes later, when it has finished its "exercise" (you'll know), let it fly back inside your head, all satisfied and tuckered out, and then close your skull back up. You might want to spend a few minutes petting your bird, speaking to it, etc.

You should be able to direct the built-up energy into your belly, where it will actually give you energy and balance your system.
1. Touch your tongue to the roof of your mouth just behind your teeth.
2. Visualise the energy running down your forehead and between your eyes.
3. Continue down until the energy runs down your chest and then stop when it reaches your naval.
That's it.

If you don't have success with that, then you may need to vent the energy off if it gets too intense for you.
1. Lie down on your back. Elevate your knees with a pillow if you feel any pain in the small of your back or lumbar area.
2. Place your hands in front of your mouth so that the tips of your fingers touch and so that your palms are facing toward your feet.
3. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Feel your stomach and chest expand gently.
4. Smile and exhale quietly, making the sound heeeeee. As you are exhaling, push your hands towards your feet and imagine that your body is a hollow tube that you are emptying with your hands.
5. Repeat this sound and movement three, six, or nine times, each time imagining that you are pushing this excess energy from your head, past your heart and belly, though your legs, and out your feet. You can also try the exercise while standing or sitting.
An imaginary seeker, seeking an imaginary goal.
Realise the nature of imagination and the fallacious effort ends.

when i practice being in the now for a long time.
This made me laugh

The techniques others mentioned sound good. Here's another: Get still sitting up with eyes closed; take a few deep breaths as you open your crown (7th chakra top of head) and allow the energy from above to wash through your entire being. :)

great2be and heidi,

Can one use (a variant of) the techniques you describe to un-stick any/all stuck bodily energy? Or are they specific to stuck crown/head energy?

Thanks,

rachMiel

Both of the exercises I listed are for energy stuck in the head.
Many years ago I had a massive build up in my head and my whole body was buzzing/vibrating. It was so acute that I literally didn't sleep for 4 straight days and nights. It was before the internet was as informative as it is now. So it was only when a friend told me of these exercises was I able to release the pressure and finally get some sleep.
These exercises are from Mantak Chia who specialises in what he calls the Healing Tao.

The "open up crown and let the energy wash down" works for the whole body. You can even visualize it washing down through each chakra if you like. I find that just taking those few moments and letting the light come through does the trick every time. :) Very similar to seeing your body as the empty flute - you are the flute, you are empty and open, you are the wind that flows through. :)

Whatever it may be I'd say observe from a safe distance. Lots of people encounter strange sensations or 'symptoms' in the body in spiritual enquiry and unfortunately many become fixated on them. If you become too interested in these experiences then they can become a snare and catch you, the "shark of the senses". Try to ignore things like these because they bring lots of unnecessary focus onto the body and/or mind when the aim is to realize that one is not the body or what it experiences. When I say ignore I don't mean reject, simply accept whatever comes but be disinterested in it, then it will pass without any stickiness or confusion.

If the sensation is or becomes more physical then I'd reccomend going to a doctor to rule out any possibilities.

Arne -

Welcome. You might check in with Bonnie Greenwell at kundaliniguide.com. She is very familiar with these kinds of events.

Alesia -

I would try not to think of it as a problem, really. There are exercises in Daoist and Buddhist Qigong tradition where the whole purpose is bring energy to the crown chakra to nourish the brain and energize the "Shen", which is kindof like the spiritual part of your psyche. In Indian tradition, people try to bring energy from the base of the spine up the spine to the crown chakra, and then down to the third eye, down through where the tip of your tongue touches the top of your mouth, and finally into the heart chakra where it burns away some impurities and then dissipates through the body.

When you are very still, you can move the energy. It follows your capital A Attention. If you have practiced Eckhart's "being in the body" thing, then instead of being in the entire body at once, simply become very aware of the area of your forehead. The energy will move there. Then your nose. Then the tip of your tongue where it touches the roof of your mouth. Then your jaw, then your throat chakra, down to the upper middle of your chest, and finally to a location about 3cm below your navel. It will mix there with Water Qi and relieve the pressure.

Remember, you aren't trying to move the energy. You are simply putting your attention where you want it to go, leading it one step at a time.

Alternatively, you can just not worry about it. It really won't hurt you. Like someone said above, energy work like this is not the ultimate goal, but it can be fun and it strengthens your ability to focus that Attention, makes you healthier, and generally withdraws energy from the mind. The mind is like anything else - when your attention is on it, energy moves there.

Good luck!

I can try to help with other questions about this, but I'm pretty new to it myself. Your energy body is just changing, and it's not a bad thing.

Good luck!
One problem, one solution.
