The ultimate joke!

Here you may share how the words Eckhart Tolle have affected your life.

The ultimate joke!

Postby runstrails » Tue Apr 02, 2013 1:41 am

After awakening, the paradox between the small-self (ego) that you thought you were and your real self disappears. You realize your true nature as self-aware reality. Of course, reality does not mind whether it's a seeker so feverishly seeking to attain enlightenment, or its a cute little dog! To reality, being an asleep human wandering around in the world is really no different than being awake as reality.

That's the ultimate joke--you were fine all along as you were .

Well, perhaps there is one small perk as reality, it is nice to finally meet yourself, as yourself (without all the disguises) :).

'Trails said: That's the ultimate joke--you were fine all along as you were .

Amen!!
I'm also just reading Dr Eben Alexander's book (with a flood of emotion from his re-minding)
His three most pressing questions of the light is likely the same as those of a seeker 'here' -
Where is this place?
Who am I?
Why am I here?

The 'orb' - interpreter between him and 'this extraordinary presence surrounding me'
Her three most important answers that are true across all dimensions, situations, experiences, even if we can't see the perspectives of the all -

You are loved and cherished, dearly, forever.
You have nothing to fear
There is nothing you can do wrong

And this right before reading your post 'trails...

'It knew me deeply and overflowed with qualities that all my life I've always associated with human beings and human beings alone: warmth, compassion, pathos,..... even irony and humor.
Our rights start deep within our humanity; they end where another's begin~~ SmileyJen

And at the end of Alexander's book there is another surprise...

OK that helps. I think I know. I think I remember reading an interview with him before his book was out where he mentions that.

The human is the child of the soul, and some degree of human fulfilment is important.

It does matter what happens to the human.

And if it didn't we wouldn't be here.
I was proud, and I demanded the finest teacher
.. .. and when he appeared
.. .. .. .. I was so small

Reminds me of what Thomas Merton said; "The big joke in life is having a self that we take seriously."
