asta's lines

Post by astaroth » Tue Mar 18, 2008 3:22 pm

Hi folks!

After some time I'd like to share again some short lines with you - the ones, which were most useful to me. May they be same helpful to you as they have been to me! (Correct English?! Hope you don't "mind")

There's nothing wrong about stories - but you aren't a story!
Play your part - but a good actor knows he isn't what he's performing!

The mind is in the world - but you aren't. You are before the world!

Thoughts are empty.

Desire nothing - your true nature doesn't lack anything.
Resist nothing - what's real can't die.

Before you are anything, you are silence.

There's no use in peace.

There's nothing personal about your ego/conditioning - nobody has created it. If "you" (the ego) blames itself for itself, "you" think "you" have created "yourself". Can anything create itself?
"Your mind, too, is a part of nature." Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

Being a human is suffering
Being what you are, before you are a human, is bliss
"Your suffering is due to your belief that you have been born into the world." Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

You aren't anything inside the picture. You are before the picture!

I like them because they are so short. No heavy luggage for the mind.

Hope you don't "mind" ;)

...you might remember me from such educational films as "Zen for couch-potatoes - The wisdom of never doing anything" or "Buddha from da hood - Was he a brother?"

Perfect. I like to keep it simple also.

Nice, thanks alot for sharing.
There's no "I" to become enlightened. The "I" can have spiritual experiences.

DON'T resist the RESISTANCE! The resistance is there. Walk into it. Feel it. Become one with it.

A good list asta. Awakening lies in the perception of each message without reference to, or cognizance of, the words that pointed it out. Be clear and see.
