This is easily one of the best threads on this forum (in my opinion, of course) ! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I love nature, too, and fantasize about living off the grid, in the woods.

Thanks for resurrecting this lovely thread. I am also a huge nature lover. Just this morning, I saw a grouse which danced for at least 10 minutes in front of me, I think it was protecting its nest which must have been nearby.

Has anyone here heard of the Aokigahara forest in Japan ? What it's known for is considered morbid by most, but I'm hoping that people here, who are more enlightened and hence more open minded, are able to appreciate a place like it.

Everything about Aokigahara intrigues me - its physical anomalies (light, sound, magnetism), its history, its topography, and of course, also the reason for its notoriety.

If you're a nature lover, do look it up.
