If we don't even notice we are breathing, what else are we

If we don't even notice we are breathing, what else are we missing?

Maybe our spiritual guide. Maybe a spirit trying to make contact. Maybe the Truth

Because the quality of our attention is only 30%

Once we pay full attention, we see the whole thing around us, that is and have always been here.

30% ?
Oh well, never mind, as long as you are fully present.

In terms of experience there are some amazing things going on in the heart and eleswhere, but as you say, it usually goes unnoticed. All we have to do is to look at that which is normally overlooked. Once we know what to look for just like the breath, it's always available.

That is how we evolved. If we spent our day making the human body function, we wouldn't spend our time thinking about the things we do. Part of the brain does all that on auto-pilot. Noticing and paying attention to your breath is a way to slow down the mind. In many ways, the brain controls such functions immaculately well.

Slowing down the mind. That has been the exact experience I have had when doing the practice that Tolle suggests. I'm usually an impatient person, and drive my husband crazy by leaving the lids off things loose, like peanut butter jars, because I'm usually in too much of a hurry to get onto the next thing. But since trying to bring the focus back on the breath, things have calmed in me and I'm more patient. Fact.
