How ET uses his money?

Postby Matteo_90 » Thu Jan 31, 2013 9:05 pm

This is a simple curiosity.

I'd especially like to know if he's a charity one, what kind of idea he has about money, or even if he delegates someone else manages his profits.

I haven't found precise answers in other topics.

Thank You

It may not be so 'simple' as you suggest if it matters to you what he does with his money. It would more likely be an unnecessary distraction from the many insightful pointers that he offers. What is really most important?

I don't know...simple or complicated, I can understand the curiosity, Matteo. Our modern-day world is one in which money, attitudes about it, how it is spent, yada yada, is the elephant in the room . We see a lot of posturing around it (see my other thread) and a lot of addiction & heartache stemming from confusion about it. However, we don't have honest, real discussions about money. Is this the last taboo?

I suspect that ET lives a "nicer" more comfy life than before his huge success. I also think he probably lives far more modestly than most others with similar means. He seems to not draw any conclusions about his "worth, status, value" as a human, based on his higher earnings. I don't imagine he gives his bank account a lot of thought....just my imaginings, I really don't know, of course!

I believe there is something beautiful and inspiring about a "spirituality of enoughness." I think I am drawn to ET's work, in large measure, because his lack of ego leads him to place a higher value on the simple; to see the beauty in the ordinary. I gather from his writings that he recognizes the futility in the world's widespread effort to define the self, to create a self, through money & things.

Well, I'd never thought about Googling "Eckhart Tolle and Money" until now! I just did, and this is one thing
that came up- a video of ET talking about his wealth. I think I summed up his take on $$$
in my previous post pretty accurately! 8)
