Well, I don't know about you lot, but my piles are playing up, and I assure you not even Buddha would have reached enlightenment without a little rubber ring. And that is why I am serious.

Ah...the Moody Blues take on it...still can't grumble. At least in a certain light a grimace can look like a smile...

Now look here, old chap, I really must speak to you about your grammar. It should read "Why is everyone so serious ..."

"Its absurd, but is it really absurd?" - from Mighty Boosh - "Jungle".

I'm signing off now, but am I really signing off ?

David, but am I really David?

Thats enough, but is it really enough.... (and so on, ad infinitum)

Actually Dave it's "that's" with an apostrophe, 's. It is a contraction of the words "that is". I am sure you know that.

Hang in there Tikey, we're glad you're here :)

Congratulations James - you have passed the apostrophe test ! Many men would not have noticed the deliberate mistake :D

Yes, hang in there Tikey - I hope my attempt at humour did not get lost in translation !

James - Can accept losing the war - but not the shocking waste of tea !

heidi,

I would really appreciate it if you at least had the common decency to warn a person before you foist upon them this degree of repetitious, gut-splitting humor when they are totally unprepared. My laughter continued to escalate until I reached line#13........... at which time I spilled my beer and fell out of the boat. However, contrary to all the notable Zen stories, I DID NOT BECOME ENLIGHTENED! :(

There is an old legend about a Zen student who once asked his master "how do I enter Zen?"

The master said: "Do you hear the sound of potato chip crunching?"

Student: "Yes I do."

Master: "Enter Zen There"

Student: "But master, what if I said I did not hear the sound of potato chip crunching?"

Master: "Enter Zen there."
