Kim Eng and ET

Post by unbornawakened » Thu Sep 22, 2011 12:00 pm

Is this woman a wife, girlfriend, or something else ?
Is she anywhere close to ET's level ?
If not, why is he plugging her into his network ? (Sure, we can guess why, but I was expecting higher standards from ET.)
What's so special about Kim Eng ?

Please inform !

Re: Kim Eng and ET - Married

From the Vancouver Sun, September 27, 2009

"Well-known Vancouver spiritual writer Eckhart Tolle, author of the bestselling Power of Now, was talking about how long he had known his wife, Kim Eng.
Backstage at the Chan Centre, as Tolle waited to go on stage with the Dalai Lama, Matthieu Ricard and other well-known teachers, he and Eng told me they’d they’d known each other at least 10 years, but been married not quite so long. Tolle said he doesn’t usually bother telling the public he’s married to Eng, who is also a spiritual teacher, specializing in body work and energy. As they talked about the 10-year passage of time of their relationships, Tolle said with a wry little smile:
“Of course time is an illusion. But it still passed.” We chuckled."
Daily life IS spiritual exercise.

wife

No, see YouTube videos where she talks to believe it. Transmits nothing to me compare to what ET does. I read the PON 10 times and everytime fells like the first time. She by no means transmits anything even close.
If not, why is he plugging her into his network ? (Sure, we can guess why, but I was expecting higher standards from ET.)
Money. I think she is interested in that and knows how to manage it. ET doesn't. Maybe this is good because ET might use his money for good causes we do not even know of (charity, free materials to needy people etc..who knows..)
What's so special about Kim Eng ?
She is ET's wife.

Geez, why so critical of Kim Eng? How in the world can you know much about her from what little you have read about her?

Yes, I was critical and I apologize for that.
All I know is that she does not inspire me at all.
And I get a strong feeling about her that she is really taking advantage of ET's fame.
I have no proof of it. And I am probably totally wrong.

I feel the same way as you do. Perhaps we have put ET on too high a pedestal. He has become a pop phenomenon, and as they say 'power corrupts'. I am afraid ET has been compromised jsut a bit in the last few years.

Thinking to myself, I say, we have to accept him as he is - a "pop mystic" ... not a saint ... but perhaps the most profound popular mystic today.

I only know of one person that I can fully trust is true to himself, uncorrupted, and one with the source: Ramana Maharshi. (There may be others, but I am not familiar with them).

You have classical music - reserved for the "elite" who have had musical training or exposure and appreciation - and pop music, which is made to appeal to the masses, the general public who are not so well trained.

At its height, classical music is unmatched. I could ramble on for pages, but I am holding myself.

At its height, pop music reaches great heights as well, it can reach great depth while reaching a very large audience.

Both are very much appreciated and needed.

As for classical music, don't ask, I may bore you.

As for pop music, here is one of those rare gems that one expects to be in the classical domain - just like Eckhart Tolle:

And then there is stuff like this which is reminiscent of Kim Eng:

People do seem to want to judge her and see the worst. Why worry about this?

I have no illusions about being non-judgmental.

Is the one labeling someone as being judgmental not being judgmental ?

I have observed a strong resistance to Kim Eng in me. I no longer watch her on YouTube or Netflix. I haven't felt driven
to investigate why I don't like her. I realize I will always be attracted to some and not others. I accept that. It's all good.

Perhaps Eng is to Tolle what Ono was to Lennon.
