E2B -

Sounds like we agree. I love Spira. Thanks for that link. Here is his latest interview with Rick Archer:
http://batgap.com/rupert-spira-2nd-interview/

(It's splendid. I sat with him at a table at SAND last year...he is very assertive in arguments, and was taking a grad student head-on about some minor thing...very revealing, pulled no punches.)

Ramana Maharshi remains a watershed interpreter of spiritual growth, so I'm asking around to others about this interpretation...thank you for your wise comments.

I'm just kind of waiting around for other entities to arrive, contact etc...not in fear, and not, frankly, expecting a multiverse-shattering blowout headzap if they show up. And maybe I just bump along like yesterday. I have found that I have a kind of everyman/common-sense/down-to-earth way about me, and that if I were to write down "my reasons for incarnating" they would probably have to include having a grounding influence in conversations about very exotic topics. Dean Radin is that way also, and his fine new book "Supernormal" is fascinating -- mostly about compilations, as meta-studies, of a variety of experiments which validate Patanjali's Yoga Sutra siddhis.

Thanks Andy for the response. I always appreciate your posts as you were one of the first people on this board to initially greet me and help me sort out my initial awakening in the Spring of 2013. Anyway, I forgot to mention how crazy that story you told in your previous post about the EMT guy and the death of your stepson. Really strange. Nanci Danison says there are no synchronicities nor coincidences, but merely manifestation, so perhaps, it was something that you manifested. Really cool story though. Eerie.

Nice post Andy. I share your groundedness. I am on the cusp of Aquarius and Capricorn, creative/flighty vs. grounded/practical. Not that I put much stock on astrology, but it does describe my personality. I think I personally incarnated specifically to listen intently to the Talking Heads, throw a tennis ball for my border collie, and eat apples.
Be present, be pleasant.

The threads are linking- splitting - linking exponentially but synchronistically for me.

I just posted a 'musing' in Kafi's forgiveness thread that -
maybe the 'intelligence' that ET speaks of (as consciousness), and if/when one is in a state of total awareness, maybe we 'humanise' - 'characterise' 'personify' the intelligence into a form that we can relate with - guides, angels, super human entities that hold this magnificence of intelligence.... or, maybe we dismiss the possibility of the immensity of the intelligence of creation and call it 'coincidence', 'luck' 'fate' depending on our personal perceptions and capacity to embrace the perfection of it... just a musing forming.

Maybe while in form we sometimes feel a need to make a recognisable 'form' out of the formless intelligence that creates or allows/organises all form, in order to 'attribute' 'project' away from our own capacity (?)

This would make sense to me of why some just describe 'feelings' / hunches etc and others guides, spirits, entities even 'aliens' 'god' etc to attribute the receiving of information outside of the believed awareness /capacity of human individuals.

I tend now to accept 'knowing' 'being' awareness, rather than seeking and/or attributing elsewhere. Albeit, if it's not 'me created/asking' then there is a sense of 'other-created' (as in clairvoyant 'stuff' & empath 'stuff' that I'm getting far more accurate in distinguishing what is & is not 'mine').

I'm not sure where this fits in ---

Innovation comes from inspiration - inspiration comes from the all but intangible meeting of the formless with form.

Thank you kafi, rt and Smiiley.

I have less fear about those sort of connections. I did actually have a Michael Newton "Life-Between-Lives" past life regression hypnosis session several years ago, and two entities appeared, but that whole session seemed to be very fuzzy, although it was amazingly long (like four hours and seemed like half an hour). I think it is possible not all who populate the "higher" realms are fully awakened. (We are in a nonduality forum, after all... :D ). But all of it is quite new to me, and ripe for fraudulent practitioners...I think caution (but not to the point of inertia) is wise.

Onceler - I have just received a very clear vision on this subject above. Very clear and very graphic. You have it almost right: your job is to eat your border collie, listen to apples and throw tennis balls at Talking Heads ... and you are supposed to do this as soon as you finish reading this post......

I like two notions on this Andy - If the map disagrees with the terrain, the map is wrong (Gordon Livingston)
and Don Miguel Ruiz's Fifth Agreement - Be skeptical, but learn to listen.

Both can be applied to everything - inner thoughts/feelings/intuitions & outer expressions and perspectives.

While reading this, my spirit guide Doktor Eggmorbulon arose and spake unto me:

There are no apples. There are no tennis balls. There are no Talking Heads.
But the border collie ... is real ... and has to urinate.

I'm not 100% sure what the Doktor meant by this ... but I sense there is great wisdom in it.

This is a really interesting idea Jen! It seems very sensible to me. I'm a fan of EO Wilson and his theory about what makes humans different from other animals. Dr. Wilson is a specialist in ants, and he says that most social animals achieve high levels of social organization by giving up their individuality. Ants, termites, and bees are pre-determined to be workers, soldiers, or queens. They don’t have any choice in who they are. There’s no individual expression. But humans have evolved the unique ability to be individuals and be part of a social group, which confers on us tremendous powers, along with a certain amount of conflict. But in this context, what this means is people are going to have a variety of responses to the same experience. We will interpret the same experience in different ways.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking “My interpretation is correct and yours is wrong, or at least not as awakened.” “My religion/group/nation has a lock on the truth” is all-too common a perception. If we turn that around and realize that our strength is in our variety, and in this case the “varieties of religious experience” (to quote a book title), then we’ll celebrate our differences and learn from each other. I’m as inspired by Onceler’s apple-eating as I am by Jack’s soaring through higher dimensions.

I am also a grounded type. I haven’t had experiences of astral planes or spirit guides. I used to be troubled by that fact, thinking I was missing something profound. Now I just feel like that is not my path. For me, there is much to be learned here now in the opening up of the heart.

That's sweet Kathleen - I (think I) am also a grounded type. I have had experiences of becoming aware of what might be interpreted as astral planes and spirit guides. I used to be troubled by that fact. Now I just feel it's within my awareness and capacity, occasionally willingly to be so. For me there is much in everything to be learned, in my own perceiving, and in sharing that and in return having others share their opening up of the heart (or closing down of the heart) experiences.

Sometimes I think it might be easier to be an ant, but that's only from our (very limited) perceiving of their experiences. The reality is often different from the second hand perceiving.

There are those who think humans have no individuality and no choice either. It all does seem like perceptions / perspectives to me.
