While in London recently I went to the National Gallery and came across a self portrait by Salvator Rosa. In the painting the artist was leaning agaist a stone pillar that had inscribed on it on Latin:
Aut Tace, Aut
Loquere Meliora
Silentio
Translated
Be Silent unless
what you have to
say is better
than Silence
