Just On Skimming...
I was skimming through the book at a Barnes and Noble. Just the mere words in the subject headings were transforming.

My favorite quote from the book is on page 152:
"There is nothing that isn't true if you believe it, and nothing that is true, believe it or not."
Blows my mind!

I'm on my second read of this book. I love it! I've also downloaded one of her talks to my IPod. There is something very reassuring and peaceful about her voice.

I love it too, Pluto. I just finished my first reading and plan to read it again, in sips. I feel the work has entered my nervous system. I am questioning so many of my assumptions and beliefs. I awoke this morning and immediately went into a state of awareness to do the Work on a troubling dream I had (my pain body was in "Jabba the Hut" mode--my visual of my pain body). My dream re-awakened (mirrored) an incident I had 7-8 years ago and the realization that this incident shaped my beliefs in a subtle, but profound way. I did the work on the incident and felt the shift, and then peace and space.
I am grateful to Katie, because I am learning to take nothing for granted and to be wary about what I believe. Wary about the believer as well!

I am certainly putting this on my reading list

I listened to the audio version. It is excellent, fantastic. It's quite a journey into Katie's existence.
I found many surprising statements. I will be listening to this one again.

It's the book I keep going back to as well. I read it for a second time and found deeper meaning. I like reading TPON in the same way.
Byron Katie keeps it real and really pushes you to examine your closely held beliefs--just all of them....

I highly favor listening to audio books read by the author since for it gives a sense of actually listening to a talk by them. Every dang time I listen to Tolle, KT, or Adya I get something new and this book is no different. One thing that stands out for me that KT said was "no two people ever really meet", and that statement continues to hit me like a ton of bricks!

This book is surely a gem. There are so many pointers to truth.
BK is among my favourites along with Adya and of course ET.

I thought there was no book that would match ANE, but after one-time reading, I must say it did.
Absolutely amazing read. It constantly gave me a sense of the absolute independent freedom within me.

I find myself compelled to write a second review of this book. I have listened to the book several times and some sections more often than that.
This book is such a dynamic, colorful and lively example of surrender to reality in motion.
If one is at all inclined to retreat from life to reach the now, consider spending some time listening to this amazing narration. Katie shares with originality the love of life that a thoroughly questioned mind and total acceptance of reality can bring.

Re: Byron Katie - A Thousand Names for Joy
Just listened to her talk with Oprah today. What a sweetheart. Unlike some "gurus" who seem to bring some hints of ego to their teachings, she came across to me as completely humble. This is how Eckhart strikes me also--a very kind personality not entangled in an ego. Both are such fine teachers of presence.
I look forward to reading her books and putting a finer point on my practice of presence.
