I was lucky enough to see Eckhart Tolle in one of his last public appearances (Chicago, Oct 2004) and he stayed and signed every book until the auditorium was empty. He absolutely radiates presence and I commented to my friend that I probably felt towards him what a Christian would feel if they saw Jesus in the flesh! The opportunity to feel the presence of someone who is thoughtless and nameless and egoless and completely open to the universe, radiating eternal love and compassion - he truly is what he writes and it was wonderful validation of something I already knew. That being said, I told him that I could truthfully say because of him and the Power of Now, I had less need of him and was more intuitively aware of my soul and rising consciousness than ever, and he just smiled and nodded.
Thank you to everyone who is here .. its great to know there is a community promoting higher consciousness in a world that sometimes seems so insane and egoic and out of control.

I was there too. An hour and a half on "meditation"- lots of incence in the lobby, looked like the seedy part of town. Were you the guy in the blue shirt? (haha)
When it came to signing my book, I asked if I could hold his hand instead.
My ego was screaming about that. "Do what you're suppose to do. Why are you making waves in front of a Master??"
Well, I did hold his hand, and the energy in his hand was incredible. It was the energy in his inner body that came through his hand, not his muscles. His hand was very relaxed. It felt like electricty coming to my hand from his, but no pain- just a charge. Dynamic!
Here's where our stories differ. I was like a schoolgirl, "I'll never wash this hand again!" Eurphoric, but aware of it.
When I was standing in front of him, his Presence nearly bowled me over.
Maybe I was a little in shock, but it felt very ethereal- like I was looking at pure space that was just taking on this form, like looking at my Self.
Of course I was, but it still was a trip!

I'm now wondering if I attended the same one you guys attended. It was at a convention center in a northern suburb of Chicago, and it was(I believe)2002 or 2003 
. It was a very large crowd(I remember being surprised at the number of ET fans in this region. ET was excellent as usual - we all floated on cloud 9 as we left the center. There was a break during which many of us introduced ourselves and chatted with one another.
I don't believe I've ever been so elated!!! I would love to see him again

I sat next to a guy who was in agony listening to ET. He kept squirming and sighing and writhing about- tortured by the whole thing. Ego-torture!
I could not help but notice him, and would have felt sorry for him, but I was SO ga-ga over ET that nothing else mattered.
After the seminar- I was flying, but about a dozen yucky happened right away which took my attention. I was aggravated about that, as I just wanted to Enjoy his Presence still- but I watched the aggravation too.
Nameless- have you watched any of Eckhart's videos of dvd's? They are like being in his audience- much Presence is transferred visually. The audios are great too.

It is worth the cost of the dvd- forty dollars- and the cost of a dvd player too. It is priceless!

... and just an FYI.. the early ET video/DVD stuff is of really poor quality.. not to say ET doesn't shine through but his newer DVD's are of much higher film and editing quality.
