Re: Awakening

You have to "feel-realize" these truths. Feel-ize, lol. I get what is meant by "feel-realize". I have always said this realization/understanding is more kinesthetic than mental...you feel it in your bones...you feel it in your heart. Could this be an instinctive or deep intuitive knowing about thin...

Re: Awakening

When you bring yourself fully present, thoughts stop and your mind falls silent. But there is an even deeper level of silence waiting to emerge. As your mind becomes silent, an inner door is opened , allowing an infinite and eternal silence to emerge. This infinite and eternal silence is the very e...

A Short Poem...

This poem was evoked from the methods of meditation brought into the activities of everyday life to just watch, observe and notice. The Silent Party - Business of people, Aspiring to reach a steeple. Their imagined version of a conclusion, That turns out to be a delusion. In easing their journey, Co...

Re: Bodily Reactions To 'not thinking?'

You might want to see where your intuition takes you. It sounds like you’re doing just that.....good luck. This seems like a wise approach. Exherting a quizzical approach has its place but sometimes just letting things happen, almost giving up, is another approach especially when there appears to b...

The Leap - Steve Taylor

A partial removal of the mysticism of awakening and a sharper view of awakening without its 'spiritual' context. Steve Taylor presents his 10 year study into awakened individuals in this wonderful book although, it is not completely devoid of spiritual aspects but this offers some measure of balance...

Re: Is presence really just self-restraint in disguise ?

It keeps coming back to that central question, doesn't it: Who/what am I? Some-thing, no-thing, every-thing? Ha, yes. What am I? To answer your question- all of the above! Well, since I'm awareness, which is the background/substratum to all the apparent objects. That means all the objects (mithya/i...

Re: Is presence really just self-restraint in disguise ?

Make no mistake about it - everything we do on this forum is mind stuff ... it has the appearance of being spiritual in nature, but it is mind stuff. I hasten to agree with this statement but only from time to time. This comes from my occasional ambivalence about the origin of this type of phenomen...

Bodily Reactions To 'not thinking?'

Hello. Iv'e been having reoccurring aches and pains in my body. The most notable is an ache and pressure in the solar plexus. I've also been entering into dark periods which seem to generate a heaviness in me. I know there can't be a definitive answer to this. Perhaps I could gain a better understan...

Re: Barometer of spiritual progress

I have a great incomparable presence of mind for your approach and your invitation for me to become curious with it. At the moment, Im not chasing anything; there's nothing I'm wanting so I will, in the gentlest possible way, decline.

Much kindness

Re: Barometer of spiritual progress

Totally agree WW. This kind of measurement, and desire for this kind of state, convinces me more and more that “enlightenment” has more in common with a dissociative disorder. A tricked up way to feel nothing....except perhaps a buzz of bliss that blocks human emotional responsiveness. I wonder abo...

Re: The tiniest moments of awareness

Hi Lianne, I realise your post emerged a few months ago now. I wanted to feed back the experience of becoming aware that there is consciousness and then there is mind. I find myself smiling at the antics of my mind also. Sometimes though, it really drags me into its false reality especially when the...

Re: Merry Christmas. A Beautiful Gift

Changes to personality occur regardless of spiritual growth. I am not "choosing" anything. Andy I see. I'm not sure why I thought one could construct a new personality of one's choosing. That was quite funny when I read it back. Speaking of funny stuff, I was reading Zen Flesh, Zen Bones the other ...

Re: Salutations and kindness...

Hello Kiki and turiya. Turiya, we had a very brief introduction on a different post in which I spoke about my feeling lost. The temporary awakening was devoid of any kind of grand entrance. I was out with my 7 year old who was playing. It seemed to happen whilst I was looking at the foliage in the p...
